How NOT to Pay
If you are about to purchase something on-line, be careful about how you are asked to pay. If you are asked to pay with iTunes cards, gift cards, prepaid VISAs or by sending funds through Western Union or MoneyGram, these are red flags. Scammers do this because it is almost impossible to get the funds back once you realize you have been scammed.

If you are selling something on-line and a “buyer” sends you a check made out for more than the correct amount and asks you to return the extra funds via a reputable source, don’t do it. If you do, the check will be returned as fraudulent and you will have been scammed for the extra money and perhaps also for the item you were selling.
