Be Careful Where You Give

Unfortunately, in times of great need in our communities there is also an increase in predatory behavior. As Covid-19 continues to haunt us and wildfires ravage our forests and towns, good and generous people open their hearts and wallets to those genuinely in need.

Some of those asking for your money, however, are not who they seem. PLEASE be wary of door-to-door solicitations and e-mail and telephone requests for donations.Give your charitable gifts ONLY to established organizations you know and trust or to emergency funds set up by local fire departments, credit unions or other service organizations you can easily check out. Don’t let yourself be scammed just because you have a good heart and a desire to help.
